Leadership Development Programmes

AGMARDT invests in a range of leadership development programmes within the agribusiness sector. This is seen as an important investment in encouraging and building capability of future industry leaders.

AGMARDT’s current investments in leadership development programmes include:

  • Nuffield Scholarships
  • Governance training for Dairy Women’s Network
  • Agri-Women's Development Trust's Escalator Programme
  • National Bank Young Farmer Contest, and
  • Young Horticulturist of the Year Competition.

We sponsor three AGMARDT Awards recognising excellence within areas of agribusiness:

  • The New Zealand Guild of Agricultural Journalists and Communicators – AGMARDT Agribusiness Award
  • New Zealand Institute of Agricultural and Horticultural Science Inc – AGMARDT Technology Transfer Award, and
  • New Zealand Society of Animal Production Inc – AGMARDT NZSAP Young Scientist of the Year Award.
